In December 2005, Mr. Raul Lozano was appointed head coach of the Polish Senior Men’s National Team. The purpose of the team is to win a medal in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The Argentinean coach is the first foreign coach in the history of Polish Volleyball.
Many of the players who have been nominated to the Senior National Team by Mr. Lozano are gold medallists from the 1997 and 2003 Junior World Championships.
In 2005, the team finished at the 4th place in the World League Finals, and at the 5th place in the European Championships.
Mr. Raul Lozano is one of the most valuable coaches in the world. He worked with the teams of Italy, Greece as well as the Spanish National Team.
In 2006 Raul Lozano won the silver medal with the Polish Men’s team in the World Championships held in Japan. That was the biggest success of the last 30 years of Polish men’s volleyball.

Philippe Blain

He was part of the French National Team from 1980 to 1991. He started his professional career as a setter with the French Junior Team and in the French National Championship, then he changed to receiver with the French Senior National Team.
Throughout his international carreer he accumulated 340 selections with the National Team. A very technical player, he was elected MVP at both the 1986 World Championships and the 1987 European Championships.
He ended his professional career in the Italian club of Cuneo.
As soon as he quit playing, he started devoting himself to training, sharing his technical knowledge and was the Head Coach of his last team, Cuneo, for four years. He moved on to the French Club of AS Cannes, where he spent two years (1999 and 2000) and with which he won the Cup of Cups in 1999. Then in 2001 he became Head Coach of Sète ARAGO (France) for one season.
So far, the highlights of his carreer as a Head Coach are a Bronze Medal at the 2002 World Championships in Argentina, a Silver Medal at the 2003 European Championships, a qualification for the 2004 Athens Olympics Games and a Silver Medal at the 2006 World league.

Philippe Blain is also the Secretary of the FIVB Coaching Commission.

Hello,

Bernardinho familyin this long interview divided in 2 parts of 12 minutes each (the second will be publish tomorrow), Bernardinho, coach of the Brazilian team, which dominates the Volleyball World since 2001, drives us in an extraordinary journey.

Browsing from Rio de Janeiro, the city where he was born and where he lives, through the dangerous scenario in which young people today live, to whom sport represents a great opportunity to escape the crime. He explains the value of education, his definition of what "talent" means, the commitment and passion, how is possible to remain on the top keeping on improving yourself and why he is proud of his team.
He talks about the books he wrote, his values and passions. He also explains why it is so different coaching men from coaching women. Finally (this part is not included in this video), he tells us that he is writing another book: Letters to young people, where he address his letters to an imaginary young sportsman.

Bernardinho, thanks so much for driving us in this long and wonderful journey.

Third Year (45-20)

 

McCutcheon, a native of Christchurch, New Zealand, played on the New Zealand junior and senior national teams from 1988-90 before coming to the United States. He was also a member of New Zealand’s national team in 1996 and represented his country on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour in 1997.

 

He played for BYU from 1991-1993 after transferring from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. In 1993 he earned honorable mention All-America honors. In 1992 he earned Academic All-Conference honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

 

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in physical education from BYU in 1993, McCutcheon played professionally for two years in Finland and Japan before returning to BYU to complete his master’s degree in exercise science in 1998. In 1999, McCutcheon received an MBA from BYU’s Marriott School of Management.
